Focused on readying the province for its mobility transformation, the Forum offers a platform for municipalities and public sector agencies to discuss their transportation objectives and collaborate in their goal of preparing for the adoption and implementation of smart mobility technologies.
Through Transport Canada’s Program to Advance Connectivity and Automation in the Transportation System (ACATS), the Connected and Automated Vehicles (C/AV) Readiness Plan Report for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) and Kitchener-Waterloo (KW) Corridor was developed and launched in April 2020.
Through the process of developing this report, over seventy-three (73) municipal transportation stakeholders were engaged to provide input and key insights on C/AV-related challenges and needs.
In support of ongoing collaboration and to continue the discourse on preparedness for the implementation of C/AVs and smart mobility technologies, the Ontario Smart Mobility Readiness Forum was created.
